FAQs

If you are a retailer, please log in to view Wholesale FAQs

Q. Why don’t I see any prices online?
A. If you don’t see any retail prices, then that particular product is not available direct-to-consumer. If you are a retailer and want to see wholesale prices, you must be logged in as a retailer.

Q. Why is the product I want not available through you?
A. We offer a limited selection of our products direct to customer. Our other products can be purchased through our online retailers. Under each product description, you can view which retailers currently carry that product. Or you can go to our store locator to shop online or to find a store near you. You can find many of our products at finer department stores, natural food groceries and baby product stores.

Q. Are the products that appear on your website the same as those found on other sites and in stores?
A. Yes.

Q. What if the i play.® retailer near me doesn’t carry the item I want?
Many of our products are available direct-to-customer. Check our product section for availability. Unfortunately there are some products that are NOT available direct-to-customer.

Q. Can I get a catalog?
A. We are primarily a wholesale company and do not have a retail catalog. We do offer a limited selection of our products online direct-to-customer.

Q. How do I make a purchase?
A. After you have added the products you want to your cart, go to checkout and fill out shipping, billing and payment information. You can checkout as a guest or create an account for future purchases.

Q. Do you ship orders outside of the United States?
A. While we do not offer international shipping we do have a list of retailers in our store loactor where you may purchase our products.

Q. I didn’t purchase the right size. Can I exchange it? Can I return a gift?
A. If you did not make your purchase directly through us, you will need to contact the store you bought it at to do an exchange or return. If you purchased your item directly through us, please contact us at contact@iplaybabywear.com with your purchase information.

Q. Are all your products just for babies? What about parents?
A. Not all of our products are just for babies. We carry products that help parents with their babies. We regularly add new products we think you’d like to see, like food preparation items and diaper bags.

Q. What is so special about using organic cotton?
A. Grown without use of toxins, synthetic fertilizers or pesticides, organic cotton is the safest, healthiest fabric available – especially for allergy-sensitive babies.

Q. What does “BPA” mean?
A. “BPA” is Bisphenol-A, a chemical used in hard, clear plastics like polycarbonate baby bottles to prevent breakage. In 2006 we learned that BPA disrupts reproductive functions and causes other developmental problems along with heart disease and diabetes, so we discontinued all BPA bottles from our line. All of our products are BPA-free. For more details, click here.

Q. What does “PVC” mean?
A. “PVC” or PolyVinyl Chloride is a hard plastic that requires harsh chemical softeners, such as phthalates, for use in soft plastic baby items such as waterproof bibs. In 2003 we discovered that certain phthalates were shown to disrupt reproductive functions and cause other developmental problems, so we removed all PVC and the known harmful phthalates from our bibs and all of our products.

Q. I’ve heard waterproof rainwear is made with harmful PVC. Are yours?
A. No. PolyVinyl Chloride (PVC) is a hard plastic that requires harsh chemical softeners for use in products like raincoats. In 2003 we discovered that these softeners, called phthalates, were shown to disrupt reproductive functions and cause other developmental problems, so all of our products are PVC-free, including our raincoats, rain ponchos, rain boots, umbrellas and other items.

Q. What is EVA?
A. Ethylene vinyl acetate (also known as EVA) is the copolymer of ethylene and vinyl acetate. EVA is widely accepted as safe for use in teethers. It doesn not require a plasticizer to obtain its flexibility, making it bisphenol-A and phthalate free. The Center for Health, Environment and Justice (CEHJ) recommends EVA as a safer PVC-free plastic alternative.

Q. How do I know your products are safe for my baby?
A. All of our products meet CPSIA, FDA & ASTM F963 safety standards for the US. This means all of our products are thoroughly tested. Please know that we take the safety of all children and your family very seriously. We use no PVC, phthalates, BPA or any other known toxin in any of our products.

Q. What are the baby bottles made of?
A. We have polypropylene feeding bottles, as well as silicone ones, both in 4 oz. and 8 oz. All of our bottles, cups and feeding accessories are free of BPA, PVC and nitrosamines.

Q. How do I decide what bib or bottle to get?
A. We have a handy chart that describes your baby’s stage in age and behavior and list recommendations. See our Size Charts section or Bottles & Bibs guide for more details.

Q. What is a flip pocket bib?
A. The bib has a pocket on the inside so that when it is flipped out, the pocket stays open to catch spills. Great for messy eaters!

Q. Do you have matching outfits?
A. We have designed most of our products to coordinate with each other with fun prints and colors. See “Related Products” at the bottom of each product description. You can also check out the “Collections” section under i play.® products.

A. You can refer to our handy size charts here, or you can click on the link to a specific size chart from applicable product pages.

Q. What is the big deal about an Ultimate Swim Diaper?
A. Swim diapers aren’t just a matter of preventing embarrassing accidents; they are central to an important health issue involving waterborne illness. Many public health officials require or recommend the use of approved swim diapers. Our all-in-one swimsuit helps temporarily contain accidents IN AND OUT of the pool, with an innovative design. i play.® Ultimate Swim Diapers are snug-fitting around the legs and waist to contain solid matter, have a waterproof layer to prevent leakage, a super absorbent layer that absorbs wetness, and a wick-away liner that wicks away moisture from baby’s skin. Plus, they come in a variety of boy and girl swimsuit styles. With over 17 years of experience making, testing and improving our Swim Diaper, we feel it’s the best in the business!

Q. Does the Ultimate Swim Diaper really contain accidents?
A. ONLY TEMPORARILY. Just as with any diaper, it should be checked for accidents and changed. Make sure swim diaper fits snugly around your child’s waist and legs to prevent leakage. If you child has an accident in the pool, remove your child from the water immediately.

Q. Do your swimwear, hats and sunglasses offer adequate protection from the sun?
A. Babies’ skin and eyes are more vulnerable to the sun, so special care must be taken to protect them. All of our swimwear and the majority of our hats are made with fabric with a UV Protection Factor of 50+. All of our sunglasses meet US and international health and safety standards and provide 100% UVA and UVB protection.

Q. What is EcoFleece?

A. You can find care instructions for each product on the product packaging, and for apparel, on the sew-in care label. Important care information can also be found on our website under the product description.

Q. How long have you been in business?
A. In 1982, owner Becky Cannon started her own reusable diapering product business from home. In 1985, Family Clubhouse was born. 1990 brought the explosion of an awareness of cotton diapers with Earth Day. The Ultimate Swim Diaper was conceived and turned into a huge success. In 1995, the team reflected and reassessed the direction of the company with a focus from infant utilitarian products to funtime gear for little kids and a new company name and logo was developed: i play.®

Q. Where are your products made?
A. We make some of our products, like the organic towels and blankets, right here in Asheville, North Carolina. Many of our products are made overseas.
